Delta Sigma Pi
Our Chapter
On September 26, 1970, the Theta Rho chapter of Delta Sigma Pi was founded at Duquesne University. The chapter currently has 74 active members, from all majors in the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business Administration.
Our Purpose
Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice; to promote closer affiliation between the commercial world and students of commerce, and to further a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture and the civic and commercial welfare of the community.
What We Do
At the Theta Rho chapter of Delta Sigma Pi we, as a community, build upon our preexisting skills and knowledge to further our knowledge of the business world. We aid our Brothers in their studies as host events where brothers can interact in network with major companies in the Pittsburgh area. Community Service is also a vital aspect of being a Deltasig. Through the support of cultural and civic organizations we seek to impact the lives of individuals and families near and far.
History of the Fraternity
Delta Sigma Pi was founded at the New York University School of Commerce, Accounts, and Finance. The four founders—Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello, Henry Albert Tienken, and Harold Valentine Jacobs—started the Fraternity for Business majors which is now world renown as Delta Sigma Pi.
